About Our Veterinary Team
Care Veterinary Services is led by our veterinarian in Millington, Dr. Amanda Hergenreder. Dr. Hergenreder grew up in Millington, graduated from Michigan State University, and is a licensed Michigan vet. Upon graduating, she worked in various animal care facilities throughout the state, gaining valuable knowledge and experience before returning to Millington and opening her own animal hospital to share her veterinary skills with her hometown community.
Our veterinarian is joined by licensed vet technicians. Stacy has a Bachelors in Science of Veterinary Technology from Michigan State University and has experience in treating serious pet conditions and pet wellness care.
Our veterinary assistant,Alyssa, helps around the animal clinic, and provides comfort, love, and care for pets during their vet visits. Her continuous learning and knowledge are valuable assets when helping animals at Care Veterinary Services.
Sarah Campbell is our receptionist, and she will greet you and your animals with a welcoming smile. When you need to schedule an appointment, check-in, or just want more information about our vet hospital, she is the person to go to.

Our hours are Monday and Wednesday at 8 am to 8 pm, Tuesday and Thursday at 8 am to 5 pm, Friday at 9 am to 3 pm, and Saturday at 9 am to 1 pm. Note that we are closed every other Saturday.
Dr. Amanda Hergenreder is a licensed Michigan veterinarian providing services for both small animals and equine. She believes that it is her job to educate and inform you as an owner to make the best decision for you and your family regarding your pets’ needs and health. Your pets’ health and well-being are a priority to all of us at Care Veterinary Services. We take every possible measure to give your beloved pets the care and compassion they deserve.
When it comes to a receptionist, there is no one else like Sarah Campbell. Greeting you with her warm and welcoming smile when you walk into our office, managing check-ins, scheduling surgeries and answering phone calls; is just the tip of what she does at Care Veterinary Services. Sarah attended Central Michigan University and studied in the healthcare field. She has previously worked at Covenant and for the American Red Cross. Sarah lives in her hometown of Millington with her husband Jimmy and their two spoiled fur kids, Moose and Stache. She loves spending time with her many nieces and nephews, playing board games and doing puzzles. In her free time, you will most likely find Sarah being crafty. Making wreaths, crocheting hats and scarves or scrapbooking are just a few of her favorite things.
Veterinarian Assistant Brittany gives our furry patients that extra tender, love, and care needed after surgery. Besides being an extra pair of hands around the clinic, she also manages our media platforms and website. Since she was a child, Brittany is always coming home with stray or injured animals, helping even the smallest of creatures. Nursing and caring for several kittens as well. She continues to gain knowledge and studies to help all animals. Brittany, her husband Dave and 4-year-old son Colton, live in the area. Their little family would not be complete without two crazy pups, Throttle, and Holley (or Sissy, as her son likes to call her.) She also adores her kitten named Poly, who has extra toes. Brittany and her family have plans to have a little farm of their own one day. With lots of rooms for horses, cows, and of course some chickens. She likes to garden with her son, crocheting fun hats and photography. She enjoys her time in the summer, fishing at the in-laws and camping with her family whenever she can.
Ensuring our patients are receiving the best care possible, our Licensed Veterinary Technician, Stacy Nelson is here for our pet patients. Making sure all animals are happy, healthy, and taking their preventatives at Care Veterinary Services. She helps draw blood, run lab work when needed, and so much more. She grew up in West Michigan near Grand Rapids. After high school, she went on to study at the University of Michigan and received her Bachelors in Science of Veterinary Technology. Stacy has worked with a variety of animals. She has a pet Ball Python named Joey, as well. Stacey recently made a big move to Vassar to join our team at Care Veterinary Services. Moving with her and Ball Python Joey are her two sweet cats, Linguini and Fartfanugen. She loves spending time camping with her family, as well as, being creative with sculpting, drawing, and painting.
Veterinary Assistant, Alyssa Cook is a big help at the clinic. Making sure the exam rooms are cleaned and stocked for any situation that may come in. Assisting with pet patient wellness exams, running labs, and making pets comfy before and after surgery.
Alyssa grew up in Millington. She attended Millington High School and Tuscola Technology Center for Agriculture Science. She played soccer and was a member of the student council.
Alyssa currently is working on finishing her prerequisites at Mott Community College with big plans to attend the Michigan States Veterinary Program in the fall of 2020, to become a veterinarian!
If she is not studying, at school or work, Alyssa enjoys camping and trail riding her jeep up north with her 2 brothers and family. She also loves to draw, play guitar. As well as being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Our newest receptionist Karissa is a perfect addition to our team. Karissa grew up in Shelby Township. After graduating from Utica High School, she worked as a camp counselor at Camp Bow Wow. Gaining experience in pet training and kennel services. Newlyweds, Karissa, and her husband, Mike, live on a little ranch near Millington with their fur family and horses, Rooster, Kenny and mini- Amber Rose. In her leisure, Karissa enjoys sorting at The Orchard, riding the trails with her horse, training or attending dock diving events with her German Shepard, Gretchen. We are happy to have Karissa at Care Veterinary Services, greeting you on the phone or in person, with a welcoming smile and positive attitude.
Kelsey works with us part-time but is such a joy to have here. Her tenderness and compassion for your pets are a few of her qualities we enjoy when taking care of our patients. Kelsey graduated from Frankenmuth High school, later attending Michigan State University, becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Kelsey, her husband Justin, and sweet baby Claire love the outdoors, camping, off-roading at Silver Lake, and spending time with family, friends and their pets, Arlo and Lola the cat.
